1. How did you choose Architecture as your career path?
I have always been interested in the science and physics of building and have been intrigued in the details and creativity of designing spaces for people and their environment.
2. What project(s) in your professional portfolio are you most proud of?
Not having studied in the USA, I am most proud of my first jobs of designing AT&T stores and Brident Dental clinics, where I enjoyed the creative problem solving. generating details with blending new materials and working on unique solutions that I had never worked with in the past. This complex challenge of new construction methodologies made me grow into an imaginative designer and see the tangible connection between various disciplines to help create a healthy environment.
At BLGY my favorite project is the WILCO JJC, which has cast a tremendous impact – designing with sustainability, function, societal values and budget as challenges that enable transform concepts into reality. The satisfaction of seeing a meaningful project come to life developed my critical thinking and project management skills at various levels.
I believe, as architects we aim to improve the quality of life and foster community identity.
3. To keep your creative juices flowing, what are your favorite activities away from work?
My two beautiful daughters complete my life beyond work and spending time with them makes me an analytical and responsible designer. I enjoy board games & doodling.
You would find me in my kitchen most times when I am away from work.
4. Tell us something interesting about yourself that nobody would know.
I can speak and read five languages.
I am a vegetarian and a foodie.
