BROOKS-QUINN-JONES ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Owner | Nacogdoches ISD
Location | Nacogdoches, Texas
Brooks-Quinn-Jones Elementary has a traditional southern feel with ornamental arches that are an expression of architectural elements used in historic Victorian homes located in the area. Throughout the interior of the building, a recurring “star” theme represents the rich history of the “Lone Star State.” The barreled-vault ceiling at the front entrance corridor provides an open and inviting atmosphere for occupants and visitors to the building.
Commons areas offer flexible learning spaces for team teaching, pullout programs and student interaction. Activity areas are centrally located to allow for after-hours events and community use while maintaining security and minimizing the use of classroom areas. The site was master planned with core areas to support 750 students, with area for new classroom wings to accommodate student growth.
