Sita Lakshminarayan Earns Top Accredited Learning Environments Designation
Sita Lakshminarayan, AIA, LEED AP (BD+C), Vice President and firm Principal, has earned the Accredited Learning Environments Planner (ALEP) designation, a mark of excellence developed to reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities of a competent educational facility planner. Fewer than 200 people globally hold this designation.
The ALEP credential was designed to elevate professional standards, enhance individual performance and identify those in the educational environment industry who demonstrate the knowledge essential to the practice of educational facility planning.
“As a practitioner devoted to life-long learning, Educational Design for me provides the unique opportunity and challenge of creating memorable learning spaces to fulfill the goals of an ever-evolving pedagogy in a perpetually changing world,” explained Ms. Lakshminarayan. “I’m committed to enabling meaningful conversations through asking the right questions of school administrators and end users. I find it especially energizing to stay close to the aspirational goals of a community, culling their vision for learning environments to nurture the youngest amongst us.”
The Association for Learning Environments (A4LE, formerly known as CEFPI), creator of the ALEP credential, states that an individual who has been certified by A4LE has achieved “the highest qualification in our profession. Clients can appoint ALEPs with confidence that they have been examined for competence by our association.”
“We offer our sincerest congratulations to Sita for her marvelous achievement that places her in a very elite global group of people who have earned the right to list ALEP behind their names,” said Benny Hawkins, President and CEO of BLGY. “Those four letters are a reflection of an intense focus and strength she has always possessed: an acute understanding of impetus and parameters for successful design of optimal learning environments. We are very pleased that Sita’s profound commitment and skills for achieving inspired learning environments are counted among BLGY’s offerings to provide responsive, cutting-edge expertise during changing eras to critically help clients to fulfill their purpose.”
